Fluorescent light bulb types are also gaining popularity mainly in offices and industries. Unlike incandescent bulbs that produce heat, fluorescent lamps are able to light up a room without generating too much heat. Although the bulbs are expensive, their lifespan is pretty impressive, and they do not use much heat compared to other light bulbs. The fluorescent bulbs work by exciting gas atoms with electricity. The atoms produce ultraviolet light that causes the phosphor, present in the tubes, to fluoresce. This is the visible light produced.
Other light bulb base types are the halogen bulbs. These bulbs are similar to the incandescent bulbs, but the main difference is that they produce very intense light. Halogen bulbs are mostly used for track lighting systems and in car headlights. Even, though, they are quite expensive compared to incandescent bulbs, they have a longer lifespan. However, the main limitation of these light bulb types is the intense heat they produce, which makes them inefficient for offices or bedrooms.
